Liz Garton Scanlon is the author of the critically acclaimed picture books All the World, illustrated by Caldecott Medal winning Marla Frazee, and A Sock is a Pocket for Your Toes, illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser.

Her newest picture book, Noodle & Lou, illustrated by Arthur Howard, is the story of the unlikely and unconditional friendship between a worm and a bird, written “in sturdy yet none-too-formal couplets with an unfaltering rhythm and gentle humor.” (Publishers Weekly)

She is an adjunct professor of creative writing at Austin Community College, and her poetry has been published widely in literary journals. She lives with her family in Austin, Texas.
