





During his formative years, Francisco X. Mora studied traditional and contemporary art with some of the most influential Mexican artists of the time. In 1979, he moved to the United States to study, live and work. He now divides his time between his United States home and visits to his homeland of Mexico.
His books for children include many adaptations of folktales and legends, including The Fox in the Moon, The Coyote Rings the Wrong Bell, and The Legend of Two Moons. Mr. Mora has collaborated as an illustrator for other children's book authors, including Pat Mora (Delicious Hullabaloo/Pachanga deliciosa) and Shirley Climo (The Little Red Ant and the Great Big Crumb.)
Mr. Mora lives near Milwaukee and his extensive experience working with children includes his work with the nationally acclaimed Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's A.C.E. arts-in-schools program.
