Kevin Henkes and Laura Dronzek to Headline Fall Sheboygan Children’s Book Festival

Children’s Book Festival will feature the duo of Henkes and Dronzek, who are husband and wife as well as collaborators.

Sheboygan (March 15, 2017) - Sheboygan County Reads!, the non-profit organization which promotes the love of books and reading among local youngsters, has revealed the first two presenters for the 2017 Sheboygan Children’s Book Festival. The book festival, set to take place October 13-15, will be headlined by the duo of Kevin Henkes and Laura Dronzek.

Henkes and Dronzek are husband and wife, as well as collaborators. Henkes is the author and illustrator of 50 award-winning and critically acclaimed novels, beginning readers, and picture books. He has created several #1 New York Times bestselling picture books. He received the Caldecott Medal for Kitten’s First Full Moon, the Caldecott Honor for Waiting and Owen, and Newbery Honors for The Year of Billy Miller and Olive’s Ocean. Dronzek is a talented painter whose work has been exhibited nationally. Some of her most renowned projects include picture books with authors such as George Shannon, Helen V. Griffith, Phyllis Rowland, and Henkes.

The duo will bring their passion for reading, writing and art to the events in October. Their presence is more than certain to entertain and inspire.
